Our post for Fresh Friday is the most relevant of all, Fresh Produce. Stores such as Maceys, Harmons and Blairs have taken their produce departments to a new level. Supermarket News states that "with so many shoppers looking to save money wherever they can, the produce departments are stepping up their efforts to emphasize fresh fruits and vegetables as a good value".   You can draw attention to your produce department by adding a new coat of paint, creating new areas of focus or even creating your own unique promotional campaign.

Have you considered displaying healthy information or highlighting organic produce?  Take a look at your store and analyze what your customer sees and feels in your produce department.  Supermarket News points out that "point of sale messaging remains critically important to spur impulse purchases, but advertising has a big impact on shopper habits as well"
